The first results are in from King County Elections and they offer few surprises. This is the first set of results. The next set will be released on Wednesday after 4:30pm
In Washington state's general election, Democratic candidates maintained their strong hold on both statewide offices and Seattle-area legislative districts, with particularly decisive victories in West Seattle's 34th Legislative District.
In the presidential race, Vice President Kamala Harris led decisively in the state with 74.75% of the vote, while former President Donald Trump received 22.29%. Third-party candidates collectively garnered less than 3% of the vote.
The 34th Legislative District, representing West Seattle, White Center, and Vashon Island, saw overwhelming Democratic victories. Representatives Emily Alvarado and Joe Fitzgibbon won their races with 85.50% and 84.46% of the vote respectively, maintaining the district's reputation as one of the state's most reliably Democratic strongholds.
Seattle's Transportation Levy, Proposition 1 championed by District 1 City Councilmember Rob Saka was leading.

In statewide races, Democrat Bob Ferguson was leading the governor's race with 72.22% of the vote against Republican Dave Reichert's 27.57% in King County results. But Reichert was out in front in other counties in the state.
According to the Associated Press Ferguson was in the lead.

Other Democratic victories in statewide offices included:
- Denny Heck reelected as Lieutenant Governor (73.06%)
- Steve Hobbs retained as Secretary of State (76.09%)
- Nick Brown elected as Attorney General (72.26%)
- Dave Upthegrove winning the Commissioner of Public Lands race (67.86%)
All four statewide ballot initiatives were losing:
- Initiative 2066: Failed with 59.43% voting no
- Initiative 2109: Failed with 72.11% voting no
- Initiative 2117: Failed with 74.71% voting no
- Initiative 2124: Failed with 61.39% voting no
In congressional races, incumbent Democrats maintained their seats with comfortable margins, including Pramila Jayapal (84.77%) in the 7th District and Kim Schrier (63.04%) in the 8th District.
Voter turnout for this election reached 54.56% of registered voters, with 777,581 ballots counted out of 1,425,313 registered voters.
Results will be certified on November 26, 2024.
