Kennedy Catholic's state Class 4A football stay ended in the quarterfinals Friday with a 34-28 loss to Gonzaga Prep of Spokane.

The defeat on the Lancers' home field at Highline Memorial left them with an 11-1 overall record for the season.

Kennedy Catholic entered the playoffs as the undefeated North Puget Sound League champions.

It was the Lancers' sixth straight Class 4A division title.

They were the No. 4 state seed and Gonzaga Prep the No. 5 State seed.

Gonzaga Prep goes on to next week's state semifinals.
