The West Seattle Junction Hometown Holidays 2024 Tree Lighting event Dec. 7 was festive, and well attended, despite having what organizers called a "Charlie Brown Christmas Tree." Earlier in the week the tree at Junction Plaza Park had been pruned by a man with mental health issues. The man is known and an effort will be made next week to reach out and get him some help. The tree will need to be replaced according to the West Seattle Junction Merchants Association.
The event hosted by Brian Callanan, included a Night Market with more than 15 vendors, a Pet Costume Contest, the Endolyne Children's Choir, The School of Rock West Seattle the Metropolitan Singers, a Beer Garden, Santa Claus himself and of course the lighting.
