Update 9:07pm
Some power is back mostly south of the original outage cause with1600 customers service restored. City Light projects restoration this evening.
A reader shared, "the start of the blackout started at my house when a tree fell down the hill, took out the powerlines next to my house and part of my car. The cause was not the transformer the cause was the tree that went down by my house and took the power out up here and then went down line onto the beach and blew the transformer. Because when our lights went out, there were still lights on at Beach Drive."
