Gymnastics
State 1A/2A/3A
Ballard captured first place in the team competition in state action held at Sammamish High School with a total of 173.750 points.
West Seattle came in 13th with 76.000 and Chief Sealth placed 42nd with 5.850 just ahead of the 5.700 total of Evergreen.
Caitlyn Adkins of Ballard tied for fourth in the All-Around with a 35.575 total and teammate Brooke Adkins took 13th with 34.725. Claire Spinosa of the Beavers placed 17th with a 34.575, just ahead of teammates Mari Puckett (34.375) and Dylan Kelly (34.350) among the top 20.
The individual finals took place the next day.
Puckett won the floor for Ballard with a 9.300 score and Brooke Adkins placed second in the bars with a 9.150. Caitlyn Adkins and Spinosa tied for fourth in the bars at 9.025.
Kelly tied for sixth in the vault at 8.950 with Spinosa 13th at 8.700.
Caitlyn Adkins came in seventh in the beam at 9.125 and Puckett placed 10th with an 8.825.
Boys swimming
State 4A
Landon Griffith of Mount Rainier won the diving competition with 456.00 points with Sean Hansford of Kennedy Catholic ninth (281.35).
Will Spencer of Mount Rainier snagged second in the 200-yard individual medley at 1:47.84 and second in the 100 backstroke at 49.16.
Will Ma of the Rams was sixth in the 100 butterfly at 51.35 with Mount Rainier taking seventh in the 200 medley relay at 1:36.04 and eighth in the 400 freestyle relay at 3:13.09.
Jack Davis of Kennedy Catholic placed 12th in the 100 fly at 52.84 and Odin Schwab of the Rams was 12th in the 100 back at 53.23 and 13th the 100 free at 47.98.
Kennedy Catholic captured 11th in the 200 free relay at 1:30.22 and 13th in the 400 free relay at 3:18.31.
Mount Rainier placed ninth as a team with 122 points and Kennedy Catholic came in 17th with 34.
State 3A
Tom Wrenholt of West Seattle took 13th in the 100 back with a 55.02 time.
West Seattle was 14th in the 200 medley relay at 1:44.42.
Boys wrestling
State 2A
Chief Sealth scored an eighth place team finish in action held at the Tacoma Dome with 105.5 points.
Micah Policarpio of the Seahawks took second at 190 pounds after being edged in the final by an 11-8 score and teammate Xavier Nguyen took the 150 third place match by fall in 1:44.
Eli Policarpio placed fifth at 215 with a 10-5 win and Chief Sealth teammate Alexander Varenhorst was seventh at 175 with a 10-5 major decision.
Alexander Gomez of the Seahawks finished eighth at 132 pounds with a loss by fall 2:13 into the match for seventh.
Ali Salim of Evergreen came in eighth in the 106 with a loss by technical fall at 1:54 and teammate Joshua Perez placed eighth at 113 with a loss by fall at 2:10.
State 4A
Nathaniel Trieu of Kennedy Catholic won the 106 title, taking the final by technical fall at 5:23.
Teammate Derek Colman-Brusa took sixth at 285 pounds with a 5-1 loss in the match for fifth.
Girls wrestling
State 4A
Kenera Diederichs of Kennedy Catholic came in second at 235 pounds with a loss by fall at the 4:40 mark of the final.
Amani Goda of Mount Rainier won the match for third place at 140 pounds by fall in 45 seconds and teammate Kalilah Tuani finished fifth at 145 with a 4-3 victory.
Larkin Nielsen of the Rams finished eighth at 130 pounds with a loss for seventh by fall in 2:50.
State 3A
Highline's Corrie Collins captured fifth place at 190 pounds with a win by fall in 2:02.
State 2A
Lucy Self of Chief Sealth snagged third place at 135 pounds by a 10-1 major decision and teammate Lanu Amituanai won fifth at 145 by fall in 46 seconds.
