Boys basketball

R.A. Long 63, Foster 44

Foster still advances to state Class 2A boys basketball final 12 tournament action at the Yakima Valley Sun Dome despite taking a loss in state regional play Saturday.

That game was played at Mark Morris High School in Longview.

The Bulldogs face a 10:30 a.m. Wednesday opener at the Sun Dome against Prosser.

The winner advances to the Thursday state quarterfinals and the loser goes home.

Foster of Tukwila entered state play as the tournament's No. 7 seeded team and Prosser as the No. 10 seed.

Redmond 61, Kennedy Catholic 53

Kennedy Catholic's season ended shy of the Tacoma Dome with Saturday's Class 4A state regional loss to the Mustangs in the Issaquah High School gymnasium.
