On June 22nd, at approximately 1:10 AM, Southwest Precinct officers responded to the 4500 Block of California Avenue SW to investigate an assault that occured outside a restaurant. The victim, an employee of the business, stated that he was standing outside talking to a patron when two unknown males walked by. The victim noticed that the suspects appeared intoxicated and were talking loudly. The suspects asked the victim what he was looking at. The victim told officers that he tried to ignore the suspects, but without warning, one of the suspects pushed the victim while the other suspect hit him in the face. Both suspects repeatedly punched the victim before running away.
Officers located the two suspects hiding in the bushes in the 4500 Block of Glenn Way SW. The two suspects ran from officers, and after a brief foot pursuit, one of the suspects was caught and taken into custody. The second suspect was tracked by K9 and taken into custody in a nearby alley. The two suspects were positively identified and arrested. The two 23 year old males were later booked into the King County Jail for assault. The victim did not require any medical attention.
