Mount Rainier went down to a 25-16, 25-16, 25-18 defeat at the hands of South Puget Sound League North Division rival Kent-Meridian last Monday.
Mykaela Klingler led the Rams with seven kills and Olivia Moss had six kills and two digs.
Tristen Yong contributed three kills and Megan Daley scored one ace, five digs, nine assists and two kills. Jenna Nye had 11 digs, six assists and one ace and Jackie Agusto scored one ace and five digs.

Girls swimming
Mt. Rainier 135, K-M 35
The Rams splashed past the Warriors in an SPSL North Division meet on Tuesday, Oct. 11.
Mount Rainier opened by winning the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 2 minutes. 6.18 seconds before J. Wu of Kent-Meridian won the 200 freestyle race in a state qualifying 1:53.71. M. Kawaguchi of the Rams took the 200 individual medley in a state qualifying 2:13.37 time.
S. Dorhofer won the 50 free for Mount Rainier in 27.11 and teammate E. DaDalto scored 168.15 points to win diving. Kawaguchi won the 100 butterfly in 1:02.95 and C. Larson took the 100 free in 1:01.75.
K. Lemley of the Rams won the 500 free in 5:47.97 and the Mount Rainier 200 free relay won in 1:52.03. Kent-Meridian's Wu then won the 100 backstroke in a state qualifying 59..72 clocking,
The Rams' R. Webster took the 100 breaststroke in 1:16.25 and Mount Rainier won the 400 free relay in 3:54.61.

The Rams took a 5-1 loss to Tahoma last Tuesday.

Auburn 3, Mt. Rainier 0
Auburn got the best of the Rams last Wednesday, scoring a 25-7, 26-24, 26-24 win.
Klingler had one ace, two blocks and nine kills and Daley delivered four digs, 10 assists and one kill. Nye recorded five aces, seven digs and eight assists and Agusto had six digs.
Moss scored two aces, two digs and four kills and Gabby Christopher had two aces and two kills.

The Rams took 13th as a team in last week's SPSL North tournament with seven points scored.
Will Desmond placed seventh in singles by a 6-1, 4-6, 10-7 loss to Derek Welch of Kentlake, but the top 10 singles and doubles teams all advance to district play in May, 2012.

Mt. Rainier 35, Spanaway Lake 30
Mount Rainier left a long 21-game losing streak in its wake when it defeated Spanaway Lake in an SPSL non-division game Thursday. The action took place at Art Crate Field next to Bethel High School in Graham.
Demetrius Locke of the Rams felt right at home, rushing 24 times for a net 140 yards with two touchdowns, including a game-winning run late in the fourth quarter.

Foster took a loss to the Highlanders in a Seamount League game played Thursday, Oct. 13 at Renton Stadium.

Foster 34, Evergreen 22
Kennedy Catholic won every swimming race in Thursday's meet that had the Lancers defeating Evergreen, 80-8, and Foster beating the Wolverines, 34-22.
JFK opened with Vanessa Moffatt, Michelle Callson, Destiny Barber and Audrey Griggs winning the 200 medley relay in 2:09.54, before Anna Luksetich won the 200 free in 2:12.20. Shaelanna White took the 200 IM in 2:40.43 and Moffatt took the 50 free in 26.24. Natalie Mutter won the 100 fly in 1:11.47 and Audrey Griggs won the 100 free in 1:00.26.
Melanie Toschi won the 500 free in 6:26.40 and the foursome of White, Theresa Cunningham, Mutter and Luksetich won the 200 free relay in 1:58.44.
Callson took the 100 back in 1:11.31 and Moffatt won the 100 breast in 1:16.87.
Moffatt, Luksetich, White and Griggs combined to win the meet-ending 400 free relay in 4:07.75.

Seamount meet
Yohana Salzano of Foster took fourth place in the girls race to highlight the area finishes in the Seamount League meet. Salzano posted a time of 20 minutes, 43 seconds over the 3.1-mile course at Evergreen High School.
