Hal Baldwin, Miss Piggy, and Jackie Baldwin all enjoy walks along Beach Drive and through Me-Kwa-Mooks Park. Miss Piggy who likes to sit on high places was enjoying sitting atop the picnic table.
Hal and Jackie Baldwin love their dog Miss Piggy, who is so named because, "she has a soft palate and when she snores she sounds like a pig, and when she sniffs on the ground she sniffs like a pig." She's an American Pitbull and she's "3-ish" years old.
The couple got her from Bullseye Rescue and found her at an event sponsored by the American Kennel Club where the organization had a tent with 'Adopt-Me' dogs. They had previously found "Pirate" their other dog (and American Bulldog) at a similar event.
Jackie was practicing loose leash walking in the park with Miss Piggy on Saturday but this is a dog with good manners and behavior. She doesn't know a lot of tricks but sits and lays down on command.
Miss Piggy does have some toys but prefers bones and rawhides and "the little antlers you get from Mud Bay. When she gets home she likes to grab them, run outside and get you to chase her. That's what she and Pirate do a lot in the back yard," said Baldwin.
"Mostly she's a big lap dog and likes to watch TV," Baldwin explained, "and she likes Top Gear, because she likes to go out in the car, she likes to navigate." This seems to have worked out for the Baldwins because, "In the whole time we've had her we haven't gotten lost," she said with a chuckle. As a sleeper she's a pro, preferring to go to bed early and sleep late Baldwin said.
Miss Piggy prefers Beach Drive for her walks.
One distinguishing behavior is that Miss Piggy is similar to many cats in that she, "likes to be up on high places so she will climb up on the dining room table or the table on the deck but it's not o.k.!"
Hal mentioned that she seems to have an odd preference for certain shoes. Not for one person over another. She just likes to chew on left shoes. "Everytime it's the left shoe only. I don't really know why."
