The summer time pleasure of watching a movie outside is back for another year in the West Seattle Junction as the West Seattle Outdoor Movies start again on Friday, July 20 with the film 50/50 Starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Seth Rogen. This is an adults only event and the $10 admission fee is a fundraiser to support Thrive Through Cancer.
Coming the next night, Saturday July 21 it's Pretty in Pink, the classic 1980's teen angst film by John Hughes starring Molly Ringwald, Jon Cryer and Harry Dean Stanton. Pre-Show entertainment will be provided by Bob "Bearcat" Rice and the film is presented by Bakery Nouveau, Dream Dinners, Nicholson Kovalchik Architects, Pediatric Speech and Language Therapy.
Comedy is king on Saturday July 28 with the showing of the Mel Brooks classic Young Frankenstein starring Gene Wilder, Madeline Kahn, and Marty Feldman. Pre-Show entertainment will be provided by Jump Roping by Rene. The film is presented by Law offices of Melissa A. Huelsman, and Seattle Lutheran High School.
Bring the entire family for Disney's the Lion King on Saturday August 4. The animated family film features the voices of Matthew Broderick, Jeremy Irons, and James Earl Jones. Pre-Show entertainment is by the Louie Foxx Magic Show and you can enjoy a FREE Community BBQ.
On August 11, Iron Man blazes into action starring Roberty Downey Jr. Gwyneth Paltrow and Terrence Howard. Pre-Show entertainment will be provided by "secret musical guests" and the film is presented by WSB, Gerald K. Wolff, DDS, and West Seattle Physical Therapy.
On August 18 the Beatles animated classic Yellow Submarine will grace the wall featuring Beatles music and starring The Beatles, Paul Angelis and John Clive. Pre-Show entertainment will be by Trivia with Jessie. The film is presented by Leo Smith, Heidi Horowitz, West Seattle Helpline, and the West Seattle Art Walk.
Tom Cruise will fly again when Top Gun is shown on August 25. Pre-Show entertainment will again be from "secret musical guests" and this will be FREE Pizza Night for those attending.
