According to the Seattle Police Dept. a 37 year old asian male suspect in a late model blue Cadillac Escalade SUV was involved in a series of rammings and a chase leading from Alki Ave, to Harbor Ave, to Delridge Way where he was finally stopped.
Public Information Officer Renee Witt said," At about 8:20 am two SPD patrol cars were parked in the Don Armeni boat launch area when they saw this blue Escalade come into the parking lot and apparently the driver was waving out the window yelling something unintelligible. They kept an eye on him. He then left the parking lot and came back in and did the same thing. Then he sped out which got the officer's attention. They took off after him headed westbound on Alki Ave. The suspect was driving pretty recklessly at that point and the officers backed off and monitored him. They lost sight of him. Then an SPD lieutenant spotted him near where Alki Ave. s.w. turns into Beach Drive. The lieutenant got behind the suspect and followed him noting he was driving recklessly. The lieutenant got in front of the suspect and the suspect sped up and rammed the lieutenant's car, putting it out of service. He broadcast this information to other officers. The suspect made a U-Turn and headed eastbound on Alki Ave. when an officer spotted him near the 7-11 on Harbor Ave. The suspect pulled to the side of the officer and tried to run him off the road. He hit that officers car. He continued east bound on Spokane Street where another officer spotted him and he did the same thing to that patrol car. He pulled up alongside and tried to run him off the road. This car got in front of him in an attempt to slow him down and he rammed that patrol car from behind. He turned up on Delridge Way where another patrol car got in front of him to stop him and block him in.
During the chase SPD put out spike strips on Harbor Ave. which he drove around and in front of the Chelan Cafe on Spokane Street attempting to stop the SUV which did puncture a tire but failed to stop the vehicle.
He was arrested and processed at the Southwest Precinct.
This suspect was previously arrested on July 5, for a similar incident in which he had rammed a private vehicle in downtown Seattle.
