The Local Strangers are the season opening act for the Hiawatha Summer Concert Series put on by the Admiral Neighborhood Association. The music starts at 6:30 and the concerts take place on the lawn behind the Hiawatha Community Center at 2700 California Ave. s.w. in the Admiral District.
Beginning their fourth season of concerts the Hiawatha Concerts in the Park series is brought to you by the Admiral Neighborhood Association.
The first act for 2012 is The Local Strangers described by the organizers as "a Seattle soulful-Americana band with powerful vocals, intricate harmonies, and poignant, relatable songwriting."
The Local Strangers website offers a bit more saying they are , "featuring Midwestern transplants Aubrey Zoli and Matt Hart. They thrive on stage in an energetic display of passion – whether backed by their 6-piece band or as an acoustic duo – creating an unmistakable connection with every audience.
Since releasing their debut EP in June 2011, The Local Strangers have logged over 6,000 miles of touring on the West Coast and Midwest. They have built a strong following in Seattle, playing to big crowds at The Triple Door, The Tractor Tavern, Columbia City Theater, The Crocodile, and Doe Bay Fest. They recently began work on a full length album with producer Kevin Alan Matley, whose production work includes Bryan John Appleby and The Head and The Heart."
Concerts start at 6:30pm and kids, babies, dogs, and families are welcome. Bring a blanket or something to sit on and enjoy.
The shows take place at Hiawatha Park 2700 California Avenue SW (between Lander St & Stevens St)
