Disadvantage of communal living
A man living in an apartment complex on the 9000 block of 45th Ave S.W. called police in mid-July to report someone stole his and several other tenants' seats from their bicycles housed in the communal storage unit. There were no signs of forced entry, so he told police it was likely a tenant with a key and, to get more specific, likely the tenant who has been harassing other tenants recently, working on motorcycles in the parking lot and revving the engines loudly. There was no clear evidence linking the motorcycle-revving tenant to the crime, so police had to leave it at that.
Fast recovery
On July 22 a man came home to his Delridge Way S.W. apartment from a trip and, exhausted, passed out around 1 a.m. He woke up around 7 a.m. and realized someone had burgled his unit during the night. A window and the back door were open, and his TV was missing. As he followed the likely exit path of his flat-screen, he came upon a paper trail strewn about his backyard and a turquoise and black Mariner’s baseball cap, size 7 ¼. Following the papers (they were his neighbors) led him to the fence where he found his TV. Although the stand was busted, the TV still worked fine. The Mariner’s cap was taken by police as evidence.
Rude awakening
A man living on the 8400 block of Delridge Way S.W. awoke to a ruckus in the living room around 2:45 a.m. on July 17. Getting up to investigate, he found an unknown male and female hanging out. He yelled at them and the male came towards him. After punches flew, the male and female suspects fled through the front door. They stole the victim’s Samsung Galaxy and charger in the process. It appeared the suspects made it into the house through a window and made themselves at home, cracking beers and sitting on the furniture. They left two water bottles and some clothing behind, which police gathered as evidence.
Stealing the business
On July 18 an unknown male entered a storage facility on Avalon Way S.W. and broke into a specific unit. Inside the unit was a lockbox with $100 in cash and the keys to the victim’s business vehicle. The white 1995 HiCube box truck has a business name on the side (it was, unfortunately, redacted in the report) and carries “card playing equipment” including tables, chairs and other casino equipment. Police have surveillance tape of the suspect and are keeping an eye out for the rather obvious rig.
