Fauntleroy resident Alex Bergler, 19, graduated Aviation High School last year. Just before he did, he organized a high-performance exotic car show for his senior project & animal fundraiser, "Angle of Attack, an Aerodynamic Kinship Between Exotic Automobiles and Aircraft". It was held at Boeing Field's parking lot, and well-attended. He leaned on some of the pals he has made from the weekly car gathering he's attended for two years who show their Ferraris, Lamborghinis, and other 12-cylinder gems. It is called "Exotics at Redmond Town Center", or "ERTC". You can read the West Seattle Herald story about the event here.

The Seattle Museum of Flight asked him back, and to lean on his buddies again to appear with their vehicles, this time to coincide with Seafair events including the Air Show. The cars, part of the museum's "Need For Speed Festival" which ties into the Blue Angels, will be on display from around 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m, both Saturday and Sunday.

Because you enter the lot with the car show through the Museum of Flight, you pay the museum's entry fee. The show is not free as we earlier reported and we regret the error.

There will be fewer cars, but more things to see overall, especially above you, including the Blue Angels, Fat Albert, Paul Allen's Flying Heritage Collection Fly Over, and more, if you time it right. Here is a basic Schedule.

"I took the year off after I graduated," said Alex. Many in West Seattle know Alex's father, David, head of admissions at Westside School. "I spent two weeks in Spain and Italy," said Alex. "I toured the Lamborghini plant in Sant'agata Bolognese Bologna. I got a VIP pass from friends in Seattle. The Lamborghini Aventador has this 700 HP V-12. Everyone is saying it might be the last V-12 Lamborghini produced (because of its high gas consumption.). It's going against the tide which is kind of funny. A lot of the composites in it were designed by the Lambourghini lab at UW."

He expects the professor of that lab, Paolo Feraboli, to show with his Lamborghini.

"I also went to Montreal to see the Formula One Grand Prix," he said. "They've been having these massive student protests there over tuition hikes. Some of the more radical groups of the students protesting hacked into website offering tickets to the Grand Prix. Then they found emails of ticket-holders and threatened them not to come to the race. This really big open house and other events were cancelled, but not the race."

His mother is Canadian so he has dual citizenship, and will attend University of British Columbia (UBC) in Vancouver. He said he will not protest their tuition, about $6,000 a year including room and board, he said. He will start focusing his studies on criminology although he is still interested in the field of flight.

He pointed out a couple of cars he is really looking foreword to seeing this weekend.

Alex enthused, "The brand new McLaren MP4-12C (Listed at $241,800), and a one-of-a-kind Rolls Royce with a World War I fighter plane engine, which is really cool, plus the Ferraris, Lamborghinis, and so forth. Other cool cars might tag along. You never know."

Perhaps the Bentley Supersports will make an appearance. Bentley represented at his car show last year thanks to Bellevue Bentley, Lamborghini, Rolls-Royce.

"Bentley's are cool," said Alex. "They will always be the performance mark of the British sports car. "Their Continental Supersports is a weird car because it has a big W12 engine in it, but also runs on bio-ethanal fuel. I guess it is them trying to say they are being environmentally-friendly even though bio-ethonol is made essentially by deforestation."
