The Vietnamese Cultural Center, 2236 SW Orchard St. in West Seattle held its outdoor ceremony Oct. 6 to honor fallen soldiers in Vietnam, and to commemorate the 712th anniversary of the death of national hero Saint Tran Hung Dao, Supreme Commander of the "Dai Viet" armies that repelled two major Mongol invasions in the 13th century.
The colorful hats and boots worn by men are a throwback to traditional royal dress.
