Sealth Alum is the choreographer for CWU's The Tempest
Mon, 11/05/2012
Carly Squires Hutchison, a 2007 graduate of Chief Sealth High School is the choreographer for Central Washington University's Central Theatre Ensemble production of The Tempest, beginning November 8.
A senior in CWU's Bachelor of Fine Arts-Musical Theatre program, Hutchison has appeared in The Adventures of Sam Spade, A Christmas Carol, and Cherios. Prior to attending CWU, she performed at the Village Theatre, the Wooden O, and Seattle Contemporary Theatre.
In the presentation, a wizard's beautiful daughter, a long ago injustice, a malicious monster, a bevy of beautiful fairies, a couple of drunk beach bums, and a fateful shipwreck on a mysterious island all come together in Shakespeare's last and most haunting play. Known for its magic, comedy and exotic locale, it is ultimately a story about family and how we say good-bye to those we love.
The Tempest will be performed November 8, 9, 10, 15, 16, and 17 with a preshow beginning at 7:15 p.m. and curtain at 7:30 p.m. at McConnell Auditorium. There will be a matinee performance with a preshow beginning at 1:45 p.m. and curtain at 2 p.m. on November 18.
