Helmstetler lights are tuned up and ready to rock
Sat, 11/17/2012
The amazing animated light display at the Helmstetler House got their final tune up this past week and are now ready to rock. The West Seattle Herald was given an exclusive first look at this years show and it's going to be remarkable.
The house is located at 3908 SW Charlestown.
Photographers David Rosen and Patrick Robinson were shown a full song from the 2012 show that lighting Choreographer Jim Winder has set up. "Once There Was A Snowman" by Insideout A Capella is a hilarious take on the snowman song that uses parody versions of famous songs all revolving around a snowman theme. See the video for the full effect.
The display starts up on Thanksgiving night but the real opening is set for Saturday, Nov. 24 at 7pm. The previous coverage on the light display is here. and for more information check the site http://www.westseattlelights.com . The show will run from 5pm to 9pm Thanksgiving night and Friday night. The Saturday night show starts at 7pm and features recording artist Judy Pancoast in an exclusive concert.
Winder said he has secured a permit to block off the normally very busy Charlestown Street for the evening and expects the Saturday evening show to be very well attended, "rain or shine" though a canopy will be set up to provide some shelter for attendees. Either way, you are advised to bring an umbrella and wear your rain gear just in case.
Seattle's Best Coffee will have baristas on staff at the event's Christmas Tree Lighting to hand out coffee and flavored creamer to onlookers to promote the opening of a Seattle's Best Coffee drive-thru only stand in the SODO area. SBC will also supply coffee for visitors on Christmas Eve. Additionally, SBC has donated 115 12 oz. bags of Seattle’s Best Level 3 coffee to the West Seattle Food Bank to show appreciation for the local community.
