Police are still searching for a man who attacked a West Seattle convenience store clerk in November with a ukulele, and are hoping surveillance footage of the criminal might lead to a break in tracking him down.

From SPD:

As you may recall, a ukulele-wielding shoplifter attacked a West Seattle convenience store employee on November 28th after the employee confronted the man about his attempts to shoplift a six-pack of beer.

Store surveillance cameras captured images of the suspect walking through the store, ukulele in hand, but detectives are still looking for the man.

Detectives don’t have much information about the suspect yet, but believe he is between 20 and 30 years old.

Seattle Police are after two suspects who attacked a convenience store clerk with a ukelele on Tuesday night that left him "battered and bloodied," according to the Seattle Police Blotter account of the crime.

The blotter account by Jonah Spangenthal-Lee reads:
"Around 9:15 pm, two suspects—a white male and a white female, both around 22 years old—walked into a gas station near Delridge Way SW and SW Myrtle Street and tried to shoplift a six-pack of Olde English beer.
A store employee confronted the suspects, ordered them to put the beer back, and then told them he was calling 911.

The male suspect argued with the employee and then hit him over the head with a ukulele, shattering the instrument and cutting the victim’s scalp.

When officers arrived on scene, they found the employee bleeding profusely from the back of his head. The suspects had fled.

Officers were only able to get a vague description of the suspects from the victim—who was taken to Highline Hospital for treatment—but the case has been forwarded to the Robbery Unit for more investigation.
