The new West Seattle Artwalk poster by Horsepower Design will debut on Feb. 14. The poster, designed by Seattle firm Horsepower Design features a stylized fish with a big eye.
The West Seattle Artwalk just got an artistic makeover thanks to Seattle design firm Horsepower Design. The new poster created by Jeff Rodriguez features a highly stylized fish walking down the street. You'll see the poster on the street for the next Artwalk, set for Thursday, February, 14.
You can download a copy of the walking map here, or pick one up at any of the 25 participating businesses in West Seattle.
Rodriguez said, "Since it's promoting an Art Walk, I wanted the visuals to be eye-catching, whimsical, and have a real hand-done approach. Conceptually, it's a fun mashup of a fish walking down the street in boots, visually consuming things - maybe art - with it's giant eye. The hand done, cut-paper look of the type adds to the whimsical nature of the illustration. This version of the poster is going to be 24"x36" mounted to A-boards that sit street side. So, it's important that it be loud and readable from a distance and also simple enough to communicate quickly to cars, dogs, and other passers by. We say if it's worthy enough for a dog to claim, then we've done our job!"
