The aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan left its home port of Bremerton and the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard today after a period of scheduled repair and maintenance. It passed by thousands of surprised onlookers who crowded the beach along Alki on a sunny day.
The USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) left port in Bremerton Naval Shipyards on Saturday March 9 and cruised by Alki Beach on it's way out of Puget Sound, surprising thousands who crowded the beach on a sunny afternoon.

On January 2011, the Navy announced that the ship would be transferred to Bremerton for a Docked Planned Incremental Availability that began in January 2012 for a period of approximately a year. At that time Bremerton became its official home port.
