Freshly cooked carne asada tacos and a game of fast-paced high school soccer are on tap for Friday, May 3 at the Southwest Athletic Complex as Chief Sealth's varsity team takes on the Seattle World School in the 7th Annual Carne Asada Bowl.

On behalf of school principal’s Chris Kinsey and Martin O'Callaghan and head coaches Ron Johnson and Juan Torres, it’s my pleasure to invite you all to enjoy the fun and festivities that surround the 7th Annual Carne Asada Bowl! The game is scheduled for Friday, May 3rd at 4pm at Southwest Athletic Complex (across the street from Sealth). This free event features top-notch soccer, friendly rivalry, a festive atmosphere and some great food.

John Boyd, a former principal of both schools, came up with the idea years ago as a way to unite two communities that share much in common – many of our past and current Chief Sealth players have transitioned into high school through the Seattle World School (formerly the BOC) – and celebrate soccer as a diverse, worldwide sport. The winning team will take home a nearly 5-foot trophy (which has proudly lived at Chief Sealth the past two years ).

Be there by 3:45 to be on hand for the starting lineups and music played by the Chief Sealth Mariachi Band led by Jorge Morales, and stay late to enjoy a feast of all feasts featuring carne asada prepared by Sealth’s own Delfino Munoz and a myriad of sides graciously donated by Sealth soccer parents and supporters.
