Len R. Burton-Hardin installed as new West Seattle Rotary Club President
Sat, 06/29/2013
The West Seattle Rotary Club has elected a new president Len R. Burton-Hardin for the year 2013-2014 and released a statement following his installation:
"It is my distinct honor and privilege to serve my fellow Rotarian’s as club president. I’ve chosen the theme for my year, “Celebrating US”. As Rotarian’s, we often work silently in our community doing service projects; one example is our annual Children's Shopping Spree at Christmas. Children benefit by receiving a warm coat, gloves, socks, a new wardrobe and even an early visit from Santa Claus. I want to honor and thank each of you for your dedication and hard work in our community with projects such as these.
Our club is celebrating it's 67th anniversary this year (chartered October 1946) as a Rotary Club in District 5030.
Leading our district this year is District Governor Ezra M. Teshome (University District Club) with his theme of “Celebrating You”, from which my inspiration came. DG Ezra is assisted by Assistant Governor Alfred “Al” G. Issac (Des Moines Club). These gentleman exemplify Rotary are providing great leadership for our District.
Ron Burton, from the Rotary Club of Norman, Oklahoma USA, is our Rotary International President for the Rotary year 2013-2014. He has chosen the theme of “Engage Rotary, Change Lives”. He explains that the job doesn't end when a new member joins: “It's not done until that new member is engaged in Rotary, inspired by Rotary, and uses the power of Rotary service to change lives.”
Thanks for your support and I welcome your comments and feedback.
Service Above Self, with humility and gratitude."
Engage Rotary, Change Lives
LEN R. BURTON-HARDIN
Club President, 2013-2014
