Twelfth Night Productions is excited to present everyone’s favorite musical, Guys and Dolls. Set in Damon Runyon’s mythical New York City, this oddball romantic comedy – considered by many to be the perfect musical comedy – soars with the spirit of Broadway as it introduces us to a cast of vivid characters who have become legends in the canon: Sarah Brown, the upright but uptight “mission doll,” out to reform the evildoers of Time Square; Sky Masterson, the slick, high-rolling gambler who woos her on a bet and ends up falling in love; Adelaide, the chronically ill nightclub performer whose condition is brought on by the fact she’s been engaged to the same man for 14 years; and Nathan Detroit, her devoted fiancé, desperate as always to find a spot for his infamous floating crap game.
TNP’s talented cast of performers and musicians will bring the fast-paced book and Frank Loesser‘s bright, brassy, immortal score to life, taking audience members from the heart of Times Square to the cafes of Havana, Cuba, and the sewers of New York City.
For more than 20 years, TNP has been donating a portion of its summer proceeds to a local non-profit, connecting audience members to organizations making positive change in our community. This year’s proceeds will benefit the theater at Youngstown Cultural Arts Center, providing much needed updating to its lighting system.
Guys and Dolls will be presented at the West Seattle High School Theatre (3000 California Ave SW) August 2, 3, 9, 10, 16, 17 at 7:30 PM and August 11 and 18 at 3 PM.
Tickets are $19 for adults and $16 for students and seniors.
You can purchase tickets online at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/408939 or at the door up to an hour before show-time.
