Juvenile thieves were apprehended on Friday afternoon, July 5 by Seattle Police thanks to alert neighbors who saw four individuals breaking into a home in the 7700 block of 15th SW in the Highland Park neighborhood.
They called 911 and officers responded quickly enough to catch two of them who still had some of the stolen goods with them at the time of arrest. Two of the four were stopped at 15th and Holden and two others were stopped a block away. The thieves were identified by the neighbors and the victim was able to identify his stolen merchandise meaning it did not have to be taken into evidence.
A laptop computer and a backpack were among the items recovered.
One suspect had a loaded handgun magazine in his possession however, a subsequent search with using canine units was unable to locate the handgun.
Three of the suspects were booked into juvenile detention for Investigation of Burglary. One of the suspects was interviewed and released pending further investigation.
According to police, this was not the first arrest for these thieves.
