UPDATE for 8:30 a.m.
At the scene, only a pair of shoes and a smear of blood remain as police continue their search for a "known" suspect who allegedly ran down a man in his 20s on the 9400 block of 11th Ave. S.W., just north of Roxbury.
The alleged hit and run occurred near the end of a dead end street, and while we are still waiting for confirmation from police on whether there is a connection between the victim and suspect, the victim's younger brother Nathaniel Hall-Deal spoke with us to provide what details he knew.
Hall-Deal said his older brother was staying at a home on 11th Ave. S.W. and left the house with a woman shortly after 6 a.m. He was told his brother (the victim) saw someone inside his car, and was then struck by a female suspect who fled the scene.
Update 2 for 12:30 p.m.
Police arrested a female suspect in this morning's hit and run in the Highland Park neighborhood of West Seattle, and have provided a few more details on what happened.
In agreement with information shared with the Herald by the victim's brother this morning (see Update 1), police are now saying the victim was allegedly ran over by a woman he knew who was stealing his car.
According to SPD Det. Mark Jamieson, "Witnesses stated that a woman known to the male victim stole his 2007 Cadillac and struck him with the car as he attempted to stop her from leaving. The 24-year-old victim sustained injuries to his head and body and was transported to Harborview Medical Center by the Seattle Fire Department."
Witnesses at the scene had information on the suspect which led to a manhunt in Federal Way and Des Moines until the stolen Cadillac and suspect were identified in SeaTac. The suspect was arrested shortly before noon and detectives are now questioning her in the incident.
