South Seattle Community College, Mie Prefecture (Japan) and Mie University have teamed up to host a seminar devoted to global economic partnerships on Friday, August 23 starting at 9:30 AM.

The free seminar, will be held at South’s Georgetown campus, 6737 Corson Ave., in the Gene J. Colin Education Hall. A keynote address will be given by Mie Prefecture’s Governor, Eikei Suzuki.

The seminar will cover the following topics:

Ø Incentives being offered by Mie Prefecture and Japan External Trade Organizations

Ø Support and resources available from the State of Washington

Ø How small to medium size enterprises can thrive as supply chains become highly globalized

Ø How business intelligence will be shaping manufacturing in the future and how you can take advantage of the coming innovations.

“Our global economy is an important part of the manufacturing industry and our programs at Georgetown are producing the industry leaders of tomorrow,” South Seattle Community College President Gary Oertli said. “We are happy to team up with Mie University and a region like Japan’s Mie Prefecture that has played such a vital role in our global economy.”
