Sat, 09/07/2013
For the 9th year now the Seafair Clowns have conducted their School Supply Giveaway and Friday September 6th was the day for students from White Center's Roxhill Elementary.
The 450 students at the school got a visit not just from the colorful clowns but from Beth Knox with Seafair Chief Gregory Dean and the Seattle Fire Department, Police Chief Jim Pugel and the Seattle Police Parking Enforcement, Lori Matsukowa of KING TV, and others were there to pass out school supplies to the students.
Every student, along with a package of school supplies was given a backpack this year too.
The event was made possible by Gary Merlino Construction, Stoneway Concrete and their affiliated companies (their 8th year participating) and by donations from their employees, suppliers, vendors and South Park business all wanting to give back to their local community.
