The business recently closed it's original location on 35th S.W. after getting close enough to completely remodeling the former Chuck and Sally's Tavern to make it possible.
Owners Rita Dixson, Trevor Garand, and Jenny and Ahmed Almukhtar did some soft open trial days including opening for the Seahawks game on Dec. 8 for invited guests but since there are a few things yet to be done (sound panels to soften reflected voices) and more they chose the 13th as the official day.
The process of remodeling the building (whose interior space and capacity are similar to their old location) was done with both care and a sense of history. Inside are the former Chuck and Sally's sign, an original cooler (now used for dry storage), a vintage beer can collection on top of the keg storage with cans dating back to the 1930's, recycled siding now refinished and used on the bar front, and the original beams, now exposed. The bar has LED lights built in whose color can be changed to reflect team colors or for special occasions (think St. Patrick's Day).
The menu and hours are for now going to remain largely the same. The Bridge built a reputation for unusual and high quality food a product of the combined talents of the Almukhtars whose training and experience form the basis for the menu.
The business of remodeling and moving was done with care beforehand as well, the owners said citing studies that were done to talk with the neighbors nearby to understand how best to fit into the area.
Within the next few months, as the weather warms up, you can expect an outdoor fireplace will be constructed on the west end of the business and the patio area they made so well known in their previous location will be back.
In the meantime, it appears The Bridge has successfully crossed town, to create a brand new community asset and gathering place.
