The hoses came out and water was sprayed at the apartments at 6955 Delridge Way S.W. in West Seattle. The cause was the discharge of a chemical extinguisher. But no one was hurt and there was no fire.
19 units responded to a fire call at 6955 Delridge Way S.W. at about 15 minutes to 6pm Monday night Dec. 16 but the call turned out to be the "discharge of a dry chemical extinguisher," said Incident Commander J. Hagen.
As to why there were so many units that responded he said, "We send enough units based on the report that we got of a fire in an apartment building. A complement of units sufficient to take care of the job."
No one was hurt and there was no fire.
That meant of course that Delridge Way was blocked both north and southbound for about 45 minutes but the caution they show is based the call and experience.
