Sat., Jan. 25, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Free community event. The day starts with a performance by the Seattle Youth Symphony. Then, the Youth Symphony musicians mentor the young string players from S.W. Seattle Schools by providing instrument technique clinics, chamber ensemble demonstrations and playing together as a full orchestra. This event celebrates the string players at Arbor Heights, Roxhill, Highland Park, Sanislo, West Seattle, and Concord International Elementary Schools and Denny International Middle School who are receiving free coaching throughout the year by professional musicians hired by the Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestras (206-362-2300 or kathleen@syso.org).
