A house fire in the 10000 block of 39th S.W. did extensive damage to a home and the occupants, home at the time were treated on the scene for smoke inhalation and one for burns. Neighbors were evacuated.

The Seattle Fire Department offered more details on the fire that destroyed a home in the 10000 block of 39th S.W. in the early evening of April 29.
"As of the morning of Wednesday April 30, both residents remain hospitalized and fire investigators have been unable to speak to them regarding the fire investigation.
It took fire crews about 30 minutes from arriving to control the fire. The majority of damage was to the basement, garage and back deck. Fire investigators determined the house is a total loss.
Firefighters stayed on scene all throughout the night on a Fire Watch to make sure no hot spots flared up.
The damage estimate is $350,000 to the structure and $100,000 in damage to the contents."

A house fire that according to the Seattle Fire Department originated in the basement of a home in the 10000 block of 39th S.W. in Arbor Heights injured two people and forced the evacuation of neighbors.
According to Kyle Moore of Seattle Fire the fire extended up through a deck. When firefighters arrived on scene they had two people injured who were treated for smoke inhalation. A male was also treated for burns.
The couple were in their 70's and were later transported to Harborview Medical Center.
Two hydrants were hooked up to provide water to battle the blaze. One of the big challenges was that all the fences around the property made access a little tough," Moore said. He said that both homes on either side were exposed to flames and heat and people were evacuated from those homes, including a paraplegic male who was taken out safely. The fire did not extend to those homes.
The Fire Investigator is on scene and will talk to neighbors.
The home was fully involved in fire and Moore said the home was extensively damaged by fire and smoke resulting in a total loss investigators said.
According to neighbors the female of the couple was outside gardening at the time of the breakout of the fire.
No cause has been determined for the fire and no damage estimate has yet been determined.
