Seahawk Derrick Coleman will keynote South Seattle College Graduation

South Seattle College announced today that Super Bowl Champion and Seattle Seahawk Derrick Coleman with be the keynote speaker for the Class of 2014 graduation ceremony on June 18. The ceremony will be held at Benaroya Hall, 200 University Street, and will begin at 7:30 PM.
Coleman became the first deaf player to ever appear in a Super Bowl and has served as a worldwide inspiration. During the Seahawks' Championship run, Coleman was a key contributor on special teams and on offense.
As a political science graduate of UCLA, Coleman was a standout scholar and athlete who was named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll (2010). He started his professional football career with the Minnesota Vikings in 2012 when he was signed as an undrafted free agent. Later that year, Coleman was released by the Vikings and signed with the Seahawks.
South's 44th graduation ceremony will honor the achievements of over 800 students who have earned degrees or certificates. This will be the fourth consecutive year that South has held its graduation ceremony at Benaroya Hall.
