A trumpet player takes a moment of silence to reflect on those who served our country during today's Memorial Day service at Forest Lawn in West Seattle.
A national moment of remembrance took place at Forest Lawn Cemetery located at 6701 30th Ave SW on May 26, 2014 on Memorial Day. The event started around 2:00pm and lasted roughly for an hour. About 100 people showed up for the memorial service to pay respect to those who have fallen in the line of duty.
Following the service a moment of silence took place as Pete Kirkman and Al Keith played Echoing Taps and then the release of two dozen white doves.
The ceremony was presented by the American Legion Post # 160 and Farwell-Roosevelt Post VFW#2713.
