White Center July Jubilee Days, the annual 8 day community festival has released their schedule of events. It begins July 12 with the White Center Garden Tour. Those touring will vote for the top 3 and prizes will be awarded. Additionally a raffle for those attending will be held with prizes for those who enter.

Then on July 16 the Davis Shows Carnival opens at Steve Cox Park and runs through Sunday featuring rides, and carnival activities. At dusk one of the better fireworks shows in the area gets underway.

The Street Fair, featuring local vendors, organizations and live entertainment begins on July 19 staged on 17th Ave. S.W. from Roxbury Street to 100th Street S.W. Early that day the Show and Shine Car Show will feature beautiful automotive art in an amazing array, all on the street on 17th Ave. S.W. down to 98th Street S.W. It is sponsored by the Patrons Car Club. T-Shirts will be given to the first 60 cars registered as well as free BBQ. It will feature bikes, low riders, hot rods and custom vehicles. The awards ceremony will be at 4pm.

The White Center Jubilee Days Parade will begin at 2:30 pm and run north along 16th Ave. S.W. from 112th Street S.W. to 100th Street S.W. with fire trucks, public officials, dancers, horses and much more. This year the theme is, ‘Thanks for the Memories’. Award Categories – Classic and antique Cars, Specialty, Novelty, Drill Teams, Marching Bands, and commercial groups.

Finally on July 20, the High Tekerz Robotics Competition will be held in the Street Fair beer garden, pitting the best student built robots in The Space Elevator Competition. Organized by the High Tekerz Robotics (FIRST 3574) Program, the challenge of The Space Elevator Competition is to design and build a robotic elevator used to carry cargo up a 20 foot ribbon autonomously. The competition is open to all ages.
