Elvino Naccarato and his wife Ruth have lived on Beach Drive in West Seattle since 1965 but over time their home got to be too much to keep up with. The home fell into disrepair and then, Ruth suffered a stroke and had go to a full time care facility. Now 9, taking care of what was required was beyond his abilities both physically and financially.

The home remodeling division of Andersen Windows called Renewal by Andersen teamed up with Rebuilding Together Seattle ® – a nonprofit that brings volunteers together with their communities to help low income homeowners in need and came to Elvino's aid.

Elvino is a WWII vet who served in the Italian campaign. Following his discharge he worked as a mail carrier before retirement. 

Kerianne Helpin, Event Mgr for Renewal by Andersen said, "Rebuilding Together hooked us up with the Baccarat's and we wanted to honor his service during Veteran's day weekend."

A team of 40 people came together to do yard work, build safe stairs and a porch, add new doors as well as clean and organize their home so it is easier to manage.

Elvino said, "It's wonderful they can do that. My wife liked to do all this but she can't do it since she had a stroke."

The work was completed in one day.
