Stopped short at gunpoint
Shortly after 6:30 p.m. on Dec.11 police received a call concerning a drive-by gun brandishing incident at the intersection of 14 Ave. S./ Dallas Ave. S. The victims, a man and a woman, were walking along Dallas St. when a red Honda Accord pulled up to them. As it stopped a passenger leaned out of the window aiming a handgun at the couple.
The victims could see that there were three men inside the Accord, all wearing masks. The suspects held the couple at gunpoint without saying a word. After a short time the suspects drove off northbound on Dallas Ave. S. The victims were unable to get a read of the license plate as the car sped away and could not provide any significant details about the suspects. According to the victims there is no one who would wish them harm and the incident appears to have been completely random.
Luggage theft
A woman on the 10000 block of 31 Ave. S.W. returned home after work on Dec.11 to find her living room completely raided and ransacked. While looking through the disaster that was now her living and preparing to call the police the victim heard a noise from upstairs.
Frightened, the victim ran out to her car and locked herself inside before she called the authorities. While speaking with 911 dispatchers the victim watched as the suspect come out of her home and walked past her car dragging one of her roller-wheeled suitcases behind him. The suspect made his way northbound as the victim gave a description of him to the dispatchers.
Officers responding to the incident arrested the suspect two blocks away. Though the suspect claimed that the roller bag was from a friend’s house where he had been playing video games officers brought the victim to the scene of the arrest, where she quickly made a positive identification. The suspect, who is a minor, was arrested and taken to the Southwest Precinct for processing.
Stealing liquor
At around 3:42 on Dec. 17 at grocery store on the 4700 block of 42 Ave. S.W. police responded to an assault and theft involving minors stealing liquor. The store manager explained to the officers that he spotted two 19-year-old Asians, a male and female, loading Crown Royal into the male’s backpack.
When the suspects began exiting the store the manager confronted them and began demanding they return the spirits. The male suspect became agitated launched into a loud and profane verbal assault on the manager, eventually throwing a full bottle of orange juice at him. Although the fast-pitch missed the mark, the manager allowed the suspects to leave for fear they would attempt to hurt him to get away.
The male suspect is described as standing 5’8 and was wearing a blue Seahawks beanie with a red jacket. The female suspect is described as standing 5’4 and had on a black backpack. As of this writing the suspects remain at large.
