High schools
Girls basketball
West Seattle will play in the Metro League tournament semifinals
Wednesday, after getting a bye as the No. 1 seed.
The Wildcats take on the Holy Names vs. Ballard winner in a 7:30 p.m.
battle inside the Nathan Hale gymnasium.
The West Central District girls tournaments also begins Wednesday.
Kennedy Catholic hosts Columbia River at 7 p.m. in 3A action as
Evergreen entertains Sequim and Foster goes to Liberty in 2A games.
More games will take place as the week goes on depending on who wins
the earlier games.
Boys basketball
Kennedy Catholic will be at home playing Prairie in a 7 p.m. Thursday
playoff as Foster travels to Sammamish and Evergreen to the home of
the South Puget Sound League 2A No. 3 entry.
More action will occur as the week goes on.
Wrestling
Seamount athletes will be involved in girls sub-regional action to be
held at Decatur High School on Wednesday, and qualifiers will be on to
regional action in Yelm on Saturday.
Chief Sealth is hosting boys regional action involving Metro League
teams starting at 8 a.m. Saturday as the SPSL 4A teams compete in
regionals at Kent-Meridian.
Class 3A Seamount teams go to regionals at Marysville-Pilchuck and 2A
Seamount teams to River Ridge.
Gymnastics
Mount Rainier High School is hosting West Central District action
including Seamount League and SPSL teams Saturday as Ballard puts on
the Sea-King District meet.
Boys swimming
Hazen is hosting West Central District action Friday and Saturday.
The 2A swimming preliminaries start at 10 a.m. Friday with finals at
12 p.m. Saturday and the 3A swimming preliminaries start at 5 p.m.
Friday with finals at 5 p.m. Saturday.
Auburn High School hosts 3A diving at 10:30 a.m. Friday and the 2A at
4 p.m. Friday.

Thunderbirds
Seattle visits Kamloops for a 7 p.m. Western Hockey League match
Friday and stops at Everett at 7:05 p.m. Saturday before hosting
Victoria at 5:05 p.m. Sunday at the Showare Center in Kent.
Mariners
Pitchers and catchers report to Peoria for spring training starting
Friday, Feb. 20.
Husky men
The University of Washington hosts Arizona for a 6 p.m. game Friday
and Arizona State comes to town at 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
Husky women
The Husky women are at Utah for a 6 p.m. game Friday and at Colorado
at 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
Cougar men
Washington State University entertains Arizona State at 8 p.m. Friday
and Arizona at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in Pullman.
Cougar women
The Cougars are at Colorado for a 6 p.m. game Friday and at Utah for
11 a.m. action Sunday.
Redhawks men
Seattle University visits New Mexico State at 6 p.m. Thursday and
Texas Pan American at 5 p.m. Saturday.

The Redhawks host New Mexico State for a 7 p.m. game Thursday and
Texas Pan American comes to town at 4 p.m. Saturday.
