Ann (Langlois) HECHT 1927-2015

Ann Hecht, 88, of Stillwater Township, NJ, died Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Newton Medical Center in Newton, NJ.

Born and raised in Seattle, Washington, Ann moved to New York City, NY, as a war bride in 1946. After living in The Bronx, NY, she lived in Edison, NJ, from 1956 until moving to Andover Township, NJ, in 1963, then moved to Stillwater in 1981.

Ann was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church of Newton, where she was Past President of the Women’s Guild and the Altar Guild and taught Sunday School. A Cub Scout Den Leader, Ann was also Past President of the Newton Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Friends of Hospice (Karen Ann Quinlan) and Church World United.

The daughter of the late Earl and Dola Samaria (Jones) Langlois, Ann was also predeceased by her sister, Ruth Perkins; two brothers, James Earl Langlois and Jack Langlois. She is survived by her husband, Raymond A. Hecht, whom she married December 4, 1943; son, William E. Hecht (Nancee); daughter, Janet E. Hecht; sister, Earldeane MacKenzie (Russell); grandchildren, Elise K. Page (Asa) and David J. Hecht (Lori); brother, Howard Langlois (June); four great-grandchildren, Ben, Wesley, Lilly and Phillip; and seventeen nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 7, 2015, 1 p.m., at Redeemer Lutheran Church, NJ. Memorial donations may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church, 37 Newton-Sparta Road, Newton, NJ 07860 or SCARC, 11 US Route 206, Augusta, NJ 07822.
