The West Seattle Hi-Yu meeting is tonight, Monday Aug. 3, 2015 at 7 pm at the Admiral Congregational Church 4310 SW Hill Street, three blocks North of Admiral Way.
We will be discussing the newly proposed Hi-Yu Teen Ambassador program & Jr. court program for the 2015-16 Hi-Yu fiscal year. Your input is important. Please come to the meeting.
FYI: West Seattle Hi-Yu, Inc. is an All Volunteer non-profit organization.

Please pass on the info. to your friends and neighbors that have student in the 8 yr. to 22 yr. ages and others who may be interested in keeping the West Seattle Hi-Yu festival going into the future.
With more volunteer members helping with the various events and programs, and expanded events and programs, the West Seattle Hi-Yu, Inc. will be even more successful, carrying on the community festivals in the summer, fall, winter and spring.
It does take a village to succeed and offering more diverse events and programs for our neighbors in every West Seattle community with something for all ages and interests will help.
Some of the ideas that have been presented include: Pet parade, dog agility race, frisbee golf, kids talent show, teen dance, dress up your dog day, Halloween costume parade, Formal Holiday Ball, All West Seattle Picnic at Lincoln Park, kayak and paddle board race, fishing derby, skating party, swim meet, tennis match, golf tournament, garden tours, family biking & stroller events, clam chowder and chili cook off event, restaurant "bite of West Seattle" events, Pub bus tour, clean up the beach events, first aid class, kids safety event, hiking and rock climbing at Camp Long event, cross country race for all ages event, climb the stairs at various WS locations event, Fun Run around the beach from Lowman Park to Seacrest Marina, baseball game, basketball game, football game, band concerts, teen talent contest, Sr. Citizens art show, Arts and Crafts fair, Holiday decorations contest, cooking & baking contest, antique car show, classic car show, build a bandstand in Lincoln Park, Alki, Hiawatha, Delridge, etc. for events, boy scouts, girl scouts, campfire and YMCA sporting event contests. Pre-school sports fun day. Elementary and middle school field day events, High school track and field events & exhibition, beach volleyball tournament.
As you can see the list is varied and covers all age ranges and interests, but volunteers are needed to make them happen.
Hi-Yu is more than a parade, scholarship pageant and parade float. Please consider attending the Hi-Yu meetings and join in with your neighbors to keep the West Seattle Hi-Yu alive and thriving into the future. Come and share your ideas for events and activities and get involved.
Hi-Yu has many interpretations but it actually means Big Time Fun Celebrations For All.
