The Seattle Fire Department, Seattle Police as well as other agencies in the vicinity including K-9 and SWAT responded to an assault with weapons call at the San Juan Apartment Building located in the 4800 block of California Ave SW shortly before midnight on August 22, 2015.

According to Seattle Police they said a lady came home with her family and saw a man in the hallway bleeding from the chest and he told her "I have just been shot by my brother" so she called 911.

A short time later the suspect came out of one of the units of the apartment wanting to leave not knowing that the police were there and was contacted by them and was then escorted out in handcuffs.

The male victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center.
