If you've driven past the spot near the corner of 35th and Henderson Street SW lately you might think something is wrong. The businesses there have been asked:

Are you still open?
Did you have a fire?
Did you go out of business?

And the answer is no.

The building changed hands in June and the new owner chose to remake the front facade of the building and upgrade the windows. Then it was discovered the behind the stucco exterior there was some dry rot so that had to be addressed, which led to delays in getting the work done..

They did have to close for about 2 weeks but now The Ripple Cafe, West Seattle Fish and Chips and Stuffed Cakes are open every day.

The work is expected to be complete in a week to ten days.
