Seattle City Council District 1 candidate Lisa Herbold on Election night, hoping to see her numbers rise, is still waiting on the reports that are slowly trickling in.
Update Nov. 9 6:00pm
The lead that Shannon Braddock has held over Herbold has now shrunken to a mere six votes in the latest update from King County election data.

49.70% - 11522 votes
Shannon Braddock
49.73% - 11528 votes
This means a recount is virtually assured. Some ballots still remain to be counted and the tally won't be announced until Wednesday.

The thin margin Shannon Braddock has held over Lisa Herbold in the City Council Dist. 1 race has shrunk again, With around 3000 ballots yet to be tallied the difference between the two candidates has shrunk to 95 votes. The rules that trigger a recount are somewhat involved (see this link) but in general can be triggered by request, if a machine count is less than 2000 votes, or if a manual count is less than 150 votes.

Lisa Herbold
49.57% - 11030 votes
Shannon Braddock
49.99% - 11125 votes

The election results from Nov. 3 are seemingly trickling in with some races and measures clearly settled and others waiting on upcoming reports.
In the hotly contest District 1 City Council Race between Shannon Braddock and Lisa Herbold the early lead that Braddock held is still there but the results have tightened somewhat.
The current count stands at:
Braddock –10905
Herbold – 10801
That's a margin of 104 votes with more ballots to be counted.
Neither side has said the outcome is final as yet.
Shannon Braddock said, "As predicted, this is a very close race. We had a very strong 'get out the vote' effort. I feel good about our numbers -- and our lead. It will likely be a few more days until the race is decided. I am proud of our campaign - positive and focused on the issues important to West Seattle and South Park."
Herbold said, "The election results are still inconclusive – with roughly 11,000 more ballots to be counted.... In the primary we saw a four point swing in my favor with post primary results trending my way. I think we can expect the same of these results."
