West Seattle trio signs up for college
West Seattle High School held a College Signing Day Celebration last Thursday for three seniors that signed on to play college sports.
Gabby Wenn signed with Villanova to play softball, while Morgan McCullough penned his name to play baseball at the University of Oregon and Lydia Giomi signed with the University of Oregon to play basketball.
The celebration for the three Wildcats took place at the school library.
Burien's Hirsch bound for the UW
Burien resident Jacob Hirsch of O'Dea High School signed on to play baseball at the University of Washington.
He attended Three Tree Montessori and Sylvester Middle School before attending O'Dea.
Hirsch made the 2015 All Metro League first team and started out playing Little League in Burien.
Ugwoaba makes second team
Highline's Uche Ugwoaba made the GNAC second team for men's soccer out of Western Washington University.
The Nigeria native who went to Highline Community College made GNAC honorable mention last year.
McPhee sinks 17 for Seattle Pacific
Mount Rainier graduate Jordan McPhee scored 17 points for the Seattle Pacific University women's basketball team in its recent 82-58 victory over Humboldt State.

Jordan McPhee's twin sister Brittany McPhee from Mount Rainier has taken her talents to Stanford University and is a freshman for the Cardinal.
Penner throws in 13 points
Kennedy graduate Mitch Penner poured in 13 points for the Seattle Pacific University men's team in a 68-60 loss to Concordia of California.
Collier, Walton starting at UW
Seattle Christian graduate Katie Collier and Federal Way graduate Tia Walton are now in the starting lineup for the University of Washington's women's basketball team.
Daniels delivers 15 for Cougars
Federal Way High School graduate Viont'e Daniels hit 15 points for the Washington State University men's basketball teeam in its 80-70 win over Northern Arizona.
McPherson scores three-straight aces
Kennedy graduate Jennica McPherson had three straight services for the Western Washington University volleyball team in a 3-0 loss to Alaska Anchorage on Saturday.
She also contributed 11 digs and four kills.
McPherson had six kills and three aces in a 3-0 victory over the University of Alaska Thursday.
Gandy comes through for Vikings
Mount Rainier graduate Kiana Gandy had solid statistics for the Western Washington University women's basketball team this past weekend.
She scored nine points with four rebounds, a team-high seven assists, one block and three steals in a 97-51 win over Fresno Pacific on Friday and had 18 points, six rebounds, one assist and one steal in a 69-65 loss to Humboldt State on Saturday.
