Salty’s Seafood Grills is a participant in the King5/Northwest Harvest food drive every holiday season. Last year they gathered more than 1000 pounds of food for the hungry. This year, they are issuing a challenge to all Seattle businesses, apartment buildings and organizations to see who can collect the most.
They are asked to contact Salty’s to either pick up or have delivered a Northwest Harvest food collection box where packaged food can be deposited. Then on Dec. 9 all participants are invited to join Salty’s for the live broadcast from Northgate Mall where the top three will be announced and congratulated.
“We managed to get an amazing amount of food last year primarily because people in our community are so compassionate and generous,” said Salty’s Public Relations Director Lennon Curtin, “and this year we have a goal of 1200 pounds. Can you top that?”
Challengers are asked to weigh their total contribution and bring their donations to Salty’s with that number before Dec. 4. They are asked to contact Salty's with the day and time they will bring the donation in.
