Author and illustrator of Oliver and His Alligator, Paul Schmid has created a gentle, funny tale about overcoming first-day-of-school jitters. Schmid will bring an easel and demonstrate how he draws his characters, share some of his inspirations and methods, and answer questions from the audience.

All year long West Seattle volunteers have been preparing Longfellow Creek park for planting, and now it’s time to get new trees and shrubs in the ground! EarthCorps supplies gloves, tools, water, light refreshments and volunteer education that covers: safety, tool use, forest health, information on the park, and the importance of the work you’ll be doing.
