Amanda Knox acquitted of slander in Italian court

According to reports in the Italian press, West Seattle's Amanda Knox has been acquitted of the charge of slander in an Italian court. Already cleared of the murder charges in the death of her roommate Meredith Kercher last March, Knox had also been charged with slander against members of the Perguia police. Knox maintained that her testimony was obtained under duress after a lengthy interrogation session with Italian police.
Prosecutor Giuliano Mignini in Perugia had asked for two years and eight months in prison.
if the conviction had been upheld the plaintiffs, seven members of the Perugia police, would have been awarded 15,000 euros each.
