Joe Murray, son of the late Jack and Anna Murray, was born in Nuremberg, Germany in 1947. He died peacefully at home in West Seattle, Washington January 21, 2016, six months after being diagnosed with lung cancer.
Joe attended Cooper Elementary, Denny Jr. High and Chief Sealth High School. He served in the Navy during the Viet Nam War.
He enjoyed his work as a demolition estimator, loved reading, going to the movies with his brother, bird watching, photography, and driving his WRX. Joe and Linda went on many wonderful road trips in Washington and Oregon, where he took some great photos.
Joe is survived by his son, Christian Murray (Claudia) of Houston, TX; brother and best friend, John Murray; sister, Margie Prebo (Mike); niece, Erin Ringer (Clint); grandnieces, Anna and Lizzie Ringer; nephew, Ian Prebo (Robin Ginnis); and Linda McFarland, with whom he shared his life for 35 years. His intelligence and humor will also be missed by his McFarland “out-laws,” and many friends and coworkers.
There will be a memorial celebration Sunday, February 21, 2016, at noon, at The Museum of Flight.
