Jamie Maples of the Wildcats struck out 11 Eastside Catholic batters, but West Seattle still came up one run short in a low-scoring game.
The Wildcats' season ended with the Metro League playoff loss.

The Lancers shut down Prairie in West Central District 3A playoff action at Art Wright Field in Kent on Saturday.
Enumclaw 6, Kennedy 5
Kennedy Catholic was edged by Enumclaw later Saturday to fall into a loser-out game against North Thurston at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Heildelberg Park in Tacoma.
Sammamish 10, Highline 2
The Pirates were knocked into the loser's bracket right off the bat in the first game of the 2A West Central District tournament.
Highline 10, White River 2
Highline bounced back to beat the Hornets on Saturday evening, advancing them into another loser-out game scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Franklin Pierce High School in Parkland against Olympic.
Olympic 15, Tyee 0
The Totems were blanked by Olympic as they opened 2A West Central District tournament action Saturday.
Tyee 5, Bremerton 0
Tyee also rebounded to win its second tournament game Saturday, staying alive to play Sammamish at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds.

Fastpitch softball
Garfield 17, Chief Sealth 3
The Seahawks suffered a lopsided loss as they opened the Metro League playoffs on Saturday.
They now play Ingraham at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Southeast Athletic Complex, with the winner playing for the league's ninth and final berth to the Sea-King District tournament at 7 p.m. at the same site.
West Seattle drew a first round bye and did not play Saturday. It is already assured of a district berth and will play for seeding Friday at either the Southwest Athletic Complex or Southeast Athletic Complex.
Meanwhile, it will play Garfield at 6 p.m. Monday at the SEAC.

The Saints took a loss in SeaTac B League regular season action Friday.

Kennedy Catholic improved to 12-0 in Seamount League action with Friday's regular season victory.
Highline 6, Evergreen 4
The Pirates pulled into a tie for third place in the Seamount League with the Wolverines at 8-4 with Friday's win.
Lindbergh 13, Foster 2
The Bulldogs took a beating in their game Friday.

Boys soccer
Chief Sealth 1, Bainbridge 0
Chief Sealth blanked Bainbridge to open the Metro League playoffs Friday.
It will play a loser-out game at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the SEAC, with the winner playing at the same site at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Girls tennis
Kennedy 7, Evergreen 0
The Lancers finished with a perfect 14-0 record in Seamount League action with Friday's win over the Wolverines.
Highline 4, Lindbergh 3
The Pirates also ended their regular season on a winning note.
Hazen 5, Tyee 2
Hazen topped the Totems in Friday's finale.

Highline edged Evergreen as the regular Seamount League season ended Friday.
