WordsWest Literary Stries presents Christopher Robinson and Michael Schmeltzer reading from their own published works, on the theme of intoxication. Their works include

Favorite Poem by Adia Mei Jun Bobo of Rain City Forge

Christopher Robinson is the co-author, with Gavin Kovite, of War of the Encyclopaedists (Scribner, May 2015), a novel Michiko Kakutani calls “Captivating…by turns funny and sad and elegiac.” His work has appeared widely in such publications as Salon.com New England Review, Kenyon Review, The Missouri Review, Gulf Coast, and Mcsweeney's online. He is a recipient of fellowships from the MacDowell Colony, Yaddo, the Millay Colony, Bread Loaf, and the Djerassi Resident Artist program. He has been a finalist for numerous prizes, including the Ruth Lilly Fellowship and the Yale Younger Poets Prize. He earned his MA in poetry from Boston University and his MFA from Hunter College.

Michael Schmeltzer is the author of Elegy/Elk River, winner of the Floating Bridge Press Chapbook Award, and Blood Song, his debut full-length collection from Two Sylvias Press. He earned an MFA from the Rainier Writing Workshop and has placed in various contests through presses such as Four Way Books, OSU Press, Zone 3 Press, and elsewhere. He has been published in Black Warrior Review, Meridian, PANK, Rattle, and Mid-American Review, among others. He lives in Seattle but can be found tweeting ridiculous things at @mschmeltzer01.

Rain City Forge represents classic beauty through simplicity of adornment. A West Coast native with family roots in Hawaii, Adia Mei Jun Bobo has been working as a jewelry metalsmith since 2010. Adia's studio is currently based out of the greater Seattle area.

Every third Wednesday, 7pm, at C & P Coffee Company, WordsWest hosts literary events that range from readings by published local and national authors, to craft discussions and guided writing explorations for every experience level. Local community members join each event by reciting a Favorite Poem. Sponsors support local business and stimulate the West Seattle literary ecosystem.
