Arrest for road rage on West Seattle Bridge

An extreme case of road rage did not go unpunished this week.

Witnesses called 911 around 2:15 p.m. on Wed., July 20, reporting that a group of armed men had stopped their vehicle on the westbound side of the West Seattle Bridge, pulled a motorist from his vehicle and assaulted him before fleeing.

The victim chased after the suspects in his own vehicle and also called 911 to provide information about the suspects. When officers caught up with the victim, they found him with a bloodied nose and immediately called for Seattle Fire Department medics to treat his injuries.

Police found the suspects’ red Ford Crown Victoria at a home on the 6000 block of High Point Drive S.W. After officers surrounded the residence, four suspects eventually surrendered and were taken into custody for assault.

Computers stolen from California Ave. business

Around 6 a.m. on Wed., July 13, officers were dispatched to the 5000 block of California Avenue S.W. The caller noticed a large window had been broken out.

The front door of the business was not locked. Officers found no suspects on the scene, and assumed that a suspect broke the window to make entry, then unlocked and exited through the front door.

A computer monitor sitting on a desk was missing its tower. Otherwise, nothing else appeared to have been moved. A softball size rock was discovered inside an office.

Officers were unable to find any usable fingerprints or any other evidence. The fire department secured the window. When the business owner arrived, she noticed at least two and as many as five MacBook Pro laptops were missing from various offices.

Break-in at office on 42nd Ave. S.W.

At 8 a.m. on Tues., July 12, officers responded to a report of a burglary on the 4700 block of 42nd Avenue S.W. A maintenance worker had arrived to work to find someone had tried to force entry into his office. The door had been damaged when the suspect tried to pry the lock.

The maintenance office is located on the first floor of the multi-story building. There are no cameras and officers could find no evidence from the scene.

Syringe left behind on Delridge

Around Noon on Mon., July 11, officers responded to a call reporting a burglary at an apartment on the 7900 block of Delridge Way S.W. The victim said that she had left to run errands at 10 a.m. and returned at 1:30 p.m. to find that her front door had been opened. The suspect left behind an empty syringe on the floor of the foyer. She said nothing else was disturbed or removed. There was no damage to her front door but she said that she still wanted the police to document the incident.

She declined the officers’ offers to dust the door for fingerprints. The syringe was taken to the precinct and disposed. The victim said that a similar incident occurred several weeks ago. While no items were stolen then, several of her bedroom dresser drawers and kitchen cabinet doors were opened. She reported the incident to the apartment complex management.
